Watch: The quiet battle between lazy dog and Roomba cleaning robot

battle lazy dog Roomba robot-1
Here's a too-real, too-relatable video of a lazy dog engaged in quiet battle with a Roomba. The puppy, named Gauge, belongs to Texas couple Julie and Andrew Zak, who uploaded this video of him trying to rest in the very spot their Roomba was trying to clean. The dog only wants to remain motionless while life gently pummels him, finally forcing him out of his slumber. And the Roomba just wants to do its job against all odds. Floors can't clean themselves, right?  View More

Watch: Lonely smart dog finds a way to play with people

dog play fetch with people-5
A very smart dog in the Netherlands is feeling lonely and has no one to play with. Of course he has a ball but he wants some exercise and loves to interact with people. So he throws the ball back out on the other side of the fence to give sweet people outside a chance to toss it back at him. This dog is adorable and what a great personality! Dogs definitely know how to train people.  View More

Watch: Australian man punches kangaroo in the face to save his dog

Steven Stubenrauch punches kangaroo save dog-8
The camera closes in on a bizarre scene of the kangaroo strangling a dog. The kangaroo has got it in a proper headlock and there’s no escaping its vice-like grip. Then, out of nowhere, a man is seen dashing toward the huge mammal. He’s heard shouting out for “Max” and tells him to “come here.” The kangaroo drops the dog and squares-up to the man. They both raise their fists as they prepare to engage in battle. Before the kangaroo even has a chance to box, the man lands a huge punch ...  View More

Photographer Martin Usborne captures “The Silence of Dogs in Cars”

Martin Usborne Silence of Dogs in Cars-10
I was once left in a car at a young age. I don’t know when or where or for how long, possibly at the age of four, perhaps outside a supermarket, probably for fifteen minutes only. The details don’t matter. The point is that I wondered if anyone would come back. The fear I felt was strong: in a child’s mind it is possible to be alone forever. Around the same age I began to feel a deep affinity with animals – in particular their plight at the hands of humans. I saw a TV documentary that ...  View More

Dogs dream about the humans they love.

According to Dr. Deirdre Barrett, who is a teacher and a Clinical and Evolutionary Psychologist at Harvard Medical School: "Humans dream about the same things they’re interested in by day, though more visually and less logically. There’s no reason to think animals are any different. Since dogs are generally extremely attached to their human owners, it’s likely your dog is dreaming of your face, your smell and of pleasing or annoying you."  View More

Hundreds of thousands of people in Switzerland eat cat and dog meat. There is no law against it in the country

SOS Chats Noiragigue is behind a campaign to ban the consumption of cats and dogs. Founder and president of the group Tomi Tomek told the BBC that 3% of Swiss people eat cat or dog meat, 80% of them being farmers. The Lucerne, Appenzell, Jura and Bern areas are the main culprits. "One woman gave me a recipe for cooking newborn cat," Tomek said. "I went to the police, a veterinarian and the government and they all told me that there was no law against it." She was told to write a petition and ...  View More

“Fido”, Abraham Lincoln’s dog, was also assassinated

Fido, like his master, would die a year later as a victim of an assassin. All of his life he had been surrounded by love, and hence Fido grew into a trusting and affectionate dog. Sadly, it was that friendly aspect that led to his tragic death in 1866. The big yellow rough-coated dog came across a man who appeared to be sleeping on the sidewalk in front of his home. He playfully approached the stranger and began to lick his face. The man, who was drunk at the time, awakened, saw the dog's open ...  View More
